Cadavre exquis
Have you ever heard of Cadavre Exquis? It's a game where participants create a collective work without knowing what others have contributed before them. At OCTOV, we took this concept and applied it to music. We challenged artists to collaborate on tracks using only a musical theme and technical specifications as a reference. Each artist focused on either rhythmics (kicks, percussions, structure), melody (synthesizers, lead bass), or sound design (effects, ambience, final mix). The results were amazing!

Rave'in
It's undeniable: COVID-19 made a significant impact on the music industry. Yet, despite the challenges, we refused to halt our connections with the public and artists.
Thus, the concept of RAVE'IN was born. We innovated a streaming platform where artists could continue to showcase their music and express their creativity. This allowed us to keep the spirit of weekend parties alive, even if we couldn't gather in person.

Parenthèse, an all-night long format
Parenthèse was born from a desire to introduce international DJs to Canadian audiences, catering to both seasoned electronic music fans and newcomers. Our goal is to secure diverse venues each night while maintaining our underground ethos. Hosting artists for 6 to 7-hour sets is our primary objective, pushing boundaries and delivering unique performances. OCTOV artists start the evening with their distinct soundscapes, followed by the main act. Local talents are also invited, showcasing Montreal's vibrant music scene.

Intermission-off
We offer workshops on Zoom, designed for artists to know more about a specific topic. We aim at helping creators and musicians boosting their careers. In the past years we talked about: the queer techno scene, raving and safe spaces with softcoresoft, Mathilda Von der Meersch -founder of Possession, and RIEN VJ; promoting your music with Bittercaress.

On tape
We meet so many talented artists, we decided to dedicate them a monthly podcast series combining interview and music.
Expect to learn a little more about artists and their projects as well as to satisfy your ears for an hour.
